Audio Visuals: Childish Gambino Has a Bad Habit in This Week’s Best Music Videos

Man, this week has been a big one for animators in music videos. We’ve got Shabazz Palaces, Prodigy, and Young Thug all taking us on cartoon imagination journeys while FKA Twigs seduces us into a surreal space of light bondage and ambient slow jamz that isn’t made of drawings, but sure as hell isn’t real life either. On top of that there’s Childish Gambino hitting on a girl in a diner while he’s tripping, a hip-hop brass collective taking it to the streets, and THEESatisfaction celebrating black luminaries. Rounding out the bunch we’ve got Bakermat teaching us how to party like octogenarians, Sharon Jones bringing back the funk, and the Afghan Whigs spotlighting one very passionate sound tech. Pack your toothbrush, because we’re going on a trip down the audio visual rabbit hole!
