A Horse Mask That’s Also a Squirrel Feeder, Because Why Not

Horse Head Squirrel Feeder

We missed an option in our guide of gifts for less than $50. There’s not much to say about the Horse Head Squirrel Feeder ($23.49) other than it is a small horse mask, and it feeds squirrels. When a squirrel feeds from it, the squirrel appears to have the head of a horse.

Lucky for the squirrels, the Horse Head Squirrel Feeder is constructed from lightweight, waterproof vinyl. They won’t need to support the diminutive horse-mask with their notoriously feeble squirrel shoulders, as the mask can be suspended from a low-hanging branch with string or fishing line.

The string is not included with the horse-mask feeder. Nor is an official name for the tiny beast simulated by the contraption. Problem solved: Assuming Greek origins, the horse-headed squirrel may be referred to as the hipposkíouros, combining the ancient Greek words for “horse” and “squirrel.”
