Nostalgia Alert: Hasbro’s ’80s Cartoons Are Now Streaming
Click to go back to Wired Home Page’80s animation fans: your days of digging through YouTube to find clips of your favorite classic Hasbro cartoons are over.
Thanks to a new deal with Vimeo, Hasbro Studios—the outfit that helps you see things on TV that you can ask for on your birthday—is collecting of many of its classic cartoons for release through the site’s Vimeo On Demand service. The first two, Transformers: Generation 1 and Jem and the Holograms, are available now. Other shows, like G.I. Joe, Pound Puppies, and even My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic will be available later in the year. (Bronies rejoice!)
All that nostalgia comes at a price, though. Individual episodes of the shows will cost $2.99 to buy or $0.99 to rent for 24 hours, and entire series can be purchased for $40. But hey, there’s a Jem movie coming later this year, and another Transformers installment slated for 2017, so that’s a small price to pay to catch up on the original small-screen versions before then.
