WIRED and Smosh Determine the Best Games Ever

What are the best videogames ever made? This is an impossible question to answer, so of course when I sat down with the crew from Smosh Games recently, we decided we could figure it all out in exactly one minute.

Here’s how the game is played: Two of us (us being me plus Smosh’s hosts Sohinki, Jovenshire, Mari and Lasercorn) sit down to debate the best game in a series of genres: First-Person Shooter, 2-D Platformer, Action/Adventure, RPG, Strategy, Sports, Puzzle, and Fighting. Each debater gets 20 seconds to argue for their pick, and then a 10-second rebuttal. After the debates, the panel of judges (that is, whoever isn’t in the debate) picks a winner. And that ends it forever.

Obviously this is air-tight science, here, but on the totally unlikely chance that you disagree with our picks, feel free to fight it out in the YouTube comments or below. (And either way, we hope you’re entertained by our yelling. We had a great time filming this!)

I stuck around in the Smosh studios after we shot this video to play some Super Smash Bros. on Wii U with the gang, and you can check that out below.
