Sometimes the internet feels like one giant fan-service machine, doesn’t it? After snippets of two new Beyonce songs began to circulate last week, the full versions followed—among them “7/11,” a goofball party-chant song that ensured you’ll never look at kale the same way again. But Bey tracks weren’t the only gift bestowed on us; there were new songs from Pusha T (over a bananas Kanye beat), Flying Lotus and MF Doom (sorry, we refuse to use the all-caps thing he’s rocking with right now), and even UK candy-pop princess Hannah Diamond, who’s juuuuuust arch enough that we’re comfortable thinking the song’s a joke. It is a joke, right? At any rate, it’s a great week if you’re not a huge fan of electric guitars.
As usual, we’ve added the tracks to our ongoing Spotify playlist of great new music, and created a standalone playlist (below). Keep the recommendations coming.
